International students are an important part of the biophysics community here at UW-Madison. Approximately half of our graduate students hail from places as diverse as India, China, Taiwan, Poland, and Colombia. Additionally, we have also had students from Korea, Belarus and Iran. Our university prides itself on the vibrant international community that is part of the UW-Madison family. Our international students receive all the same guarantees and support as domestic students.
When applying as an international student, if you are currently in the United States, you will be invited to our formal interview weekend. If you reside internationally, interviews are conducted via video call with members of the admissions committee.
For more information on resources for international students, please check out the International Student Services website. ISS is responsible for procuring and helping international students maintain necessary travel documents.
